November 26 | Exclusive | from duranasty.com’s London correspondent | Today november 26, only 18 days before the launch of All You Need Is Now digital single on iTunes, the guys are in a secret location in London shooting the video for the first single off their upcoming album. Nick Egan is in charge to direct the video with the help of Poya Pictures, a Los Angeles & Chicago based film/video production company specializing in music videos, commercials and feature films...

November 24 | duranasty.com analyse some post-Red Carpet Massacre interviews to find out who might be the female vocalist on Duran Duran's 'The Man Who Stole A Leopard'.

Maybe we don't have to look too far to find out the answers to the question as we might get it just reading some Duran Duran interviews done in the latest couple of years. So while waiting an official announcement about the super special female guest vocal on 'Leopard', done last week in Los Angeles, we have time to make hypothesis based on Duran Duran's own words.

I'm sure Duran Duran will probably SURPRISE us with a totally unexpected name, so no one of the names mentioned here... but there might be also a tiny chance that the special female vocal is someone anticipated in these interviews... so check it out!

Bonus! A 700 mb encode mp4 download of 'Behind The Music Remastered'. It looks pretty great so get your copy and enjoy!

November 19| Duran Duran have just started some promotion in Uk | The media machine is starting to move, The One Show, and there's gonna be more soon!

Simon and John were interviewed on The One show from BBC1 on the 17th, in the last segment of the programme Simon was asked if there will be a tour, the answer was "Yes absolutely! I think what we gonna be doing now... we got the single coming out decembert 14th, the album on the 21th and all the rest of our time is gonna be getting a live show together."

After the show John was in a talkative mood and stopped to chat to some long time fans, one of them was kind enough to send me an email with some very interesting information to share with you all...

November 16, 2010 | This is an exciting day in the 'Duran Duran World' as we just had the pleasure to listen a snippet of the wonderful new song 'All You Need Is Now', the first single from the upcoming Duran Duran album. But duranasty.com has always had a foot in the present and one in the past and eyes always looking to the future. So it's also time to post the special page to celebrate the release of Big Thing Collector's Edition, as announced within the Notorious special back in October.

It took me a month to put it all together, since Big Thing was probably the first underestimated and ignored Duran Duran album of the series and back in 1988 there wasn't as much press and media attention as the band used to have during the fab five days. On a positive note, I have to say that the little press the band had back then was quality one so it was a real pleasure to dig into my Duran Duran Archive and search for the most interesting and indepth interviews from NME, International Musician and some prestigious newspapers and find also some unseen and unusual pictures or unpublished material, just to give more value to this page, since there's not much stuff online about Duran Duran's Big Thing.

So I spent the latest four weeks building this page, everyday I hoped to publish it but I always had some more urgent current news that required a post on the site [and of course I was soo excited to do that] so that's why this has been delayed. Sometimes I just rediscovered that little tidbit of news or that cool picture and thought they could be interesting to add them to the page... so, day by day, it became a mastodontic tribute to this beautiful album. Well, That's it!

Hope you enjoy this special in typical duranasty.com style. Click the crossed heart icon below to get to the page.

November 8 | Ok, ok! We are all so excited about Being Followed which has finally leaked. Thanks to Mark Ronson and his radio show on eastvillageradio.com the Internet and millions of Duranies are still jizzing all over themselves. The song, from what we have heard so far, sounds fantastic!

Rhythmically, sounds very much like the first Duran Duran album rather than Rio. Production sounds great, so the clear instrumentation, you can actually hear all the instruments: a classic Duran Duran old-style guitar riff, disco druming, energetic bass flicks, vibrant synths and a beautiful performance by Simon that uplifts the track at the maximum of loveliness.

Similitude? | Some fans says that Being Followed recalls Atomic by Blondie... yes, maybe it recalls something in some points, but something very different from Blondie: check out the guitar and the rhythm section of the first 50 seconds "A Forest" from "The Cure" [thanks to loyal duranasty.com visitor Donata for the heads up]. Don't you think that the beginning of the two songs have a few points in common? Of course the Duran track has a totally different mood, rhythmically more joyous, more electronic, a totally different song! Maybe just a little similitude between the beginning of the two tracks.

With a clever cut and paste Marcel Agterhuis has made an amateur longer version of Being Followed [posted on soundcloud.com] without Mark Ronson talking all over it. This is not the real entire version but just a more listenable and 'clean' version of the bits aired by Rosnon. Get it here

Duran Duran on Capitol? When Mark Ronson aired a bit of Being Followed he talked all over it to protect the track,. At some point he said "This is exclusive property of Capitol Records". You might think he was just saying whatever came into his head just to protect the song but the question is: Why one like Mark Ronson [Duran Duran's N°1 fan, so one of us!] would give such a wrong information through a internet radio with the entire fan-base listening to his program?! I would assume that he was saying the truth, rather than just imitating some old-style 80's deejay. But again, why he had to mention Capitol?

All our questions seems to lead to the same answer: Duran Duran might release All You Need Is Now on Tape Modern record label under license to Capitol/Emi; a bit like it was to Universal for The Devils. But again we still have to put a big question mark on this. I guess we are very close to the official announcement... so we can only wait...

Duran on the press | Get the latest articles about the guys published in the international press: The interesting article 'Key component' from the South African The Citizien says "The mega-selling band were one of the first to embrace and manipulate “new media”. Get the scan here. Full article [page one page two] on Nick and MNDR about music and sinth on Dazed and Confused [a very nice read!] and italian magazine's DiPiù which features half page about Simon, Yasmin and Amber Shopping in Rome early this month. Some news tidbits from different sources that I got here and there:

The answer to the picture quiz is: Mark Ronson! Two generations of Duran Duran producers in the same picture taken in Nile Rodgers's garden in New York in the 80s.
